Located in Rabat’s Agdal district, El Barid Stadium—officially renamed Stade Al Medina following its reconstruction—served as a key venue for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, standing out in vibrant, dynamic waves of colour during and beyond the prestigious tournament.
Originally constructed in 1970, the former stadium served for decades as the home ground of Union Touarga SC, a historic club in Morocco’s top division. With a capacity of just 2,000 spectators, a basic playing surface and no lighting, the facility no longer met the standards required for modern football competitions.
Completely rebuilt and inaugurated on 13 November 2025, the new Stade Al Medina is a contemporary football arena with a seating capacity of 18,000 and state-of-the-art facilities throughout. It features a natural grass pitch designed to ensure optimal playing conditions and excellent visual quality. Its minimalist architecture, combined with a sunken playing field, guarantees clear, unobstructed views from every seat, creating a fully immersive experience for spectators.
